Goat

Lucas Cranach sr. (1472-1553)was a close friend of Martin Luther, whom he painted in various guises. He was courtpainter who not only painted his own lord, but also kings and emperors. And besides many paintings with a biblical subject, mythological themes and quite a lot of resting nymphs wearing slight veils and jewelry, he made lots of studies, such as this one of a goat, a watercolour painting from a lost sketchingbook. This goat I cannot find in his large works, so it must have been painted just for itself. A full udder with milk is clearly visible. Which inspires me: Polenta and Pecorino

What you need for 6:
500 g polenta 4 stockcubes, 80 g butter, 150 g grated Pecorino Sardo, 1 tbsp oliveoil,1 branche fresh thyme, enough water to cook the polenta approx. 2 liters

What you do: Bring the water and cubes to boil. Add the butter bit by bit and stir well. Then stir in the polenta and keep on stirring strongly until it is boiling. Follow the instructions on the polentapack for duration which will be approx. 30 minutes. Pour the polenta when well cooked in a square casserole and let it cool, then cut it in slices. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
Rub an ovenproof dish with the olive oil, and stack the slices polenta like cake on a platter. Sprinkle with the grated pecorino and leaves of thyme. Put in the oven for about 15 minutes till the cheese colours golden. Serve the polenta with an Italian veggiedish or chicken.
